Fusing different musical styles is their main challenge! To them the elements of classical music, jazz, ethno, film and world music provide the ingredients for the perfect mixture. With their music they shall travel all the continents of the world stopping only to bring you the Mike Mower's Sonata Latino, a composition filled with samba and Brazilian folk rhythms.
The programme includes two longer compositions of English composer and flutist Mike Mower .The latter collaborated with artists such as Gil Evans, Tina Turner, Björk, James Galway, BBC’s Radio and Big Band Orchestra, etc. SONATA LATINO for flute and band was created in 1994, and allowed the author to capture various Latin rhythms: Salsa Montunate - Cuban-Venezuelan salsa; RUMBANGO – a mixture of Tango and rumba, especially popular in Columbia and Argentina; Bossa Merengova – rhythms of Bossa nova from Brazil. His Sonata Opus di Jazz for flute and jazz trio is, as suggested by the title, jazzy in nature (Shuffle, BALLADA, BLUEBOP). For the second part of the concert the group will be joined by the cellist Rina Kacinari.
