Mother Goat is a single parent who has to bring up her goatlings all by herself. In spite of the dangers she has to go out of the woods and fetch some food. She warns the children to beware from the Wolf, who, however, is clever enough to play a trick on them. When they open the door he shoves them all in a sack and runs away with them. The neighbors - the Duck Ignatius and his wife Amalia - having witnessed what happened to the goatlings - tell everything to their mother and they also help her to find the Wolf and to rescue the goatlings.
