Senior bank clerk Holger Hermansen leads a life which is regular and conscientious in every way. He lives in a suburban villa together with his stay-at-home wife and works in the centre of town as a senior bank clerk in the same branch of the bank where he received his training. In his free time he tends his miniature garden and goes for long walks. His life may seem rather dull to an outsider, but Holger Hermansen is, on the whole, perfectly contented with it...
...at least until one night in the small hours, when two people, one a full-blown bona-fide psychopath, the other a mysterious blonde, move in as neighbours, and in one fell swoop cause cracks to appear in the idyllic suburban facade.
Holger Hermansen becomes a bull in a china shop, embroiled in a deadly game of merciless brutality where stolen cash, lethal weapons, needle-sharp stilettos, the screech of tyres, seductive rhythms, alluring cleavages and ticking time bombs are the order of the day.
Holger Hermansen's everyday philosophy of giving everyone his due, minding his own business and not involving himself in other people's affairs simply doesn't work anymore. At risk of life and limb and with death as a constant companion he casts himself into the fray against a ruthless adversary... and with true love as the ultimate prize.
